Mark graduated from Indiana University in May 1979. He began his career with Alexander Grant & Co. (now Grant Thornton), working on the audit staff in their Chicago office. His next position was with Indiana Bell Telephone Company, working as a financial analyst, internal auditor, and state and local tax manager. In 1990 he founded Mark E. Rhodes CPA and has headed the firm (now Rhodes Knisley Williams LLP) since that time.

In addition to his CPA license, Mark holds his investment license and recently joined Monon Wealth Management in 2021. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Indiana CPA Society.
